Classroom Rules and Consequences

PROCEDURES

Middle School Students

 

(1).     GOING TO THE RESTROOM

           If a dire need exists to use the restroom facilities, please insure the following

           are done to insure the least disruption to class efforts:

 

           (a).    Raise your hand during a lull in classroom (non lecture time or non test time)

           (b).    State Your Need

           (c).    Leave cell phone/Ipads/MP3’s at your desk/backpack

           (c).    Take a Pass on the Wall

           (d).    Go to nearest restroom

           (e).     Return to room quickly

           (f).     Place pass back on wall

           (g).     Take your seat quietly without distraction

 

(2).   HOW TO ASK FOR HELP

 

         If you have a question or there is an emergency, please do the following:

 

         (a).   Raise your hand.

         (b).   Clearly state the nature of your need

         (c).   Listen to instructions or assistance

         (d).   Comply with instructions

 

 

 

(3).   TORNADO DRILL

 

          In the event the office notifies us of an impending tornado warning, please

          follow the instructions below.

 

         (a).    Listen to alarm over school speaker system

         (b).    Pair up with your emergency buddy

         (c).    In an orderly fashion, line up by the door near the storage cabinets

         (d).    Proceed out the door single file.

         (e).   Go to the Tornado Invacuation area.  (1st floor, Hallway A)

         (f).    Sit against the wall.   Keep quiet.    Stay away from glass windows.

         (g).   Let the teacher know if your buddy is missing or other in the class are missing.

         (h).   Once an all clear is given over the speaker system, proceed back to the

                  classroom.   

 

(4).   CONDUCTING SILENT READING

 

         To insure maximum effectiveness and best use of time in class, silent reading

         and homework  will follow the following guidelines:

 

        (a).   Open reading assignment to appropriate place.

        (b).  Focus only on reading or homework material at hand.

        (c).   No talking, distractions, horseplay or cell phone use allowed.

        (d).   No music allowed.

 

 

 

   (5).    TAKING TESTS

             Understand the procedural setting and rules for taking tests.

             (a).   Be on time.   Tests have time limits.  

             (b).   No restroom breaks.  Emergency…raise your hand!

             (c).   Have pencils or pens ready to go

             (d).   Backpacks, books, notes  or cell phones put away.

             (e).   Print your name on 1st page.  No name, no credit.

             (f).    Keep your eyes to yourself.  No cheating.   No talking.

                      God Forgives……I   DON’T.     Automatic  0  on the test.

             (g).    Raise your hand IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION OR AN EMERGENCY.

             (h).     Time allowed is on test paper.

              (i).     Circle response/write in correct response.

              (j).     If you have a question, raise your hand.

             (i).     When test is over….STOP.  Put down Pencil/Pen.   Place test in test box in front. 

                        Pickup homework assignment from Homework box.

             (j).      If you are done early, quietly get up and place test in test box.   Pick up homework

                        from Homework box and start on it.    

                        You cannot retrieve your test once it’s turned in.

 

CONSEQUENCES

1st Violation   -  verbal warning

2nd Violation -   verbal warning

3rd violation -    written warning/note to parent

4th violation -    Parent/teacher conference

5th violation -    Office visit

 

On tests

1st violation cheating – 0 grade on test,  written notice to parent

2nd violation cheating – 0 grade on test,  parent/teacher conference
